May 23. •lolin F.din Smile, an Australian, residing m Stamford, Lincolnshire, hns been committed for trial at the Moath -Wizes on a charge of feloniously shooting at Charles Uniaeke, of Diinboyne. The quarrel arose through Savile's libels about Mrs. l>.iiackc. A revolver was pointed at the prosecutor, and a struggle ensued, during which the revolver went off. Savile was' compelled to sign a confession withdrawing his statements and apologising.
