OPERATIONS AT MOTUROA. The weekly report of the driller at No. 2 bore, detailing the work done from Friday, May 14, to Thursday, -May 20, inclusive, was as follows; "(in May 1-1 the pump was going all day, working! well; 10 barrels of oil put in cemented j tank and 1 to furnace; :( barrels (lowed, while rods were, going down; total for seven hours pumping, lo' barrels of good oil ami i rough for furnace. Saturday; Started pumping in the morning; Morning well all tiny. Monday: Pumping all day; put 17 barrels of clean oil into cemented lank, 4 barrels (lowed from gas pipe between pump itnd ain. casing; 17 barrels for 2!)- hours' pumping: cups worn out. Tuesday; Started to pull rods 10 a.m.; pump working again £ p.m.; filled and strained 3 barrels of oil; oil in underground tank oft ll%in. Wednesday: Pump working all day; cleaning out iron tank; gas stronger than day before. Thursday: Pump not working well; cup getting worn; pumped about 1.100 oil and water all day; straining oil and running into underground tank; IS barrels for lo hours' pumping, and will get another barrel or two in the morning; there will in a good many barrels of rough oil for furnace; gas stronger to-day than usual; kept lire going; have not been using much waste oil; lift, of oil in underground tank and din.
