Violet Foster, a child of three years, daughter of a laborer, was drowned iu a well. ,She laid only been misled live minuted when found, and lift was not extinct, but she died before a doctor arrived. STATION COOK'S SUICIDE. Christcliureh, Saturday. At Hannicr Springs yesterday, an elderly man, W. Drake, was found dead with his throat cut. He was- cook nt St. Helens' station. SEPTUAGENARIAN DROWNED. Dtmedin, Saturday. George Kent, 7!) years of age, fell over the wharf at "Maori Kaik last night and was drowned. RUN OVER BY A CART. Christchnfch, Saturday Night. An inquest concerning the' death Of James Smart, of Cumberland street, Richmond, who died in Thursday as the result of injuries received by being run over by a cart on April 17th, was heid before Mr. IT. W. Bishop, S.M. to-day. The Coroner" returned a verdict that deceased met his death by being run 1 over by an aerated water cart while at I the wrong side of the road.
