A -MAN SHOT DEAD. New York, Mav 19. After repeated threats by the '" Black Hand" Society, Puecio, a retired cigar maker, was shot dead on the staircase of his domicile in New York. Puecio was Ihe closest friend of Detective Petrosino. The death of Ouiseppe Petrosino, the detective who was murdered in March, in Palmcro, Italy, by th: •'Black Hand" Society, is regarded as.one of the severest blows that th? cause of law and order in New York could have sustained.
