Cambrian visited I'hriwtmns I-land .Oil March 4 anil found the bow ot the wrecked steamer Aeon fast oil the reef„ Hit' remainder of the vessel liad either hiink or hvpn carried away b\ the tide. Ihe lx'iK'h was strewn goods from the wreck and the merchandise was mostly ruined by the ivatcr or 'buried in tile sand. No attempt was made to board the wreck. Nothing of value was expired. leading to the conclusion that till! entire cargo had disappeared. Ihe Cambrian officers doubted (he slory tliat pirates) had looted the ship. The Honolulu expedition arrived shortly uftur the Cambrian's visit. When the Honolulu oxjieditioii arrived it expected to get a full load of stuff of more or lens value. No further news has been received of the Auckland expedition. 1
