Mr. John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, speaking at Carshalton, said something was being done in regard to the Poor Law Commission ■ reports. Tlie Government was determined to lose no time or opportunity ia the administration ami carrying out 4h« practical proposals contained in both the Majority and Minority reports of the Commission. If the country knew it» business, it would remit both report* and the whole problem to.tho resident Locnl Government Board for practioil action, whenever lie or tho Departnwßt thought such action necessary.
