A SHEPHERD MISSING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wairoa, May 14. Robert Mclntyre, a shepherd, left Ormond's station to go to Waikokopu. A Tiderless horse has been found, and it is feared Mclntyre is drowned.
A DISAGREEABLE DI'TY. Whangarei. Friday. Constable Douglas, of llikurangi, had to perform a very gruesome task yesterday. The body o'f a .Maori man who had been dead some time was found in a Tvhare in the heart of the Puhipuhi bush. As other Maoris refused to have anything to do with the body, the constable had to carry it on a saddle over four miles. A verdict was returned at tire s inquest that deceased died for want of nourishment. The Charitable Aid Board • undertook the funeral. J ' " RUN OVER BY A TRAi.V. Timaru, Last Night Dennis Collins, a laborer aged 20. was Tun over by a slow train from the south as it was'coming into the station tonight, and killed instantly, ids head being cut off and his body terribly mutilated.
