. RESIGNATION' Of Jilt. BERRY. ■ A special meeting of the directors of the Taranaki Petroleum Co., Ltd., was.' held yesterday afternoon when a letter was read from Mr. D. Berry resigning his position as chairman and director of the company. The indications at No. 2 bore continue to be good and the manager is testing with a view of avoiding the foreigu blatter which is proving so detrimental to successful pumping. At the present moment there are about 400 gallons of oil iu the big underground tank. Mr. L. Keith, manager for the Run;-, thon Petroleum Co. has written that all arrangements have now been completed in Wellington for the new plant, and he expects to be in New Plymouth readyto re-commence boring on "the 21st inst.
