The Prime Minister informed a representative of the Press this evening that the whole of the public accounts for the financial year 1908-9 had beeu passed by the Audit Department and were to be returned to the Minister for Finance this evening, He added that again, as was the ease last year and the year before, they were 'being returned without any comment of any sort and with no "tags." It was' very gratifying to know that the whole of the year's extensive operations has passed the ordeal of the Controller and Auditor-General's , office, and had been found without- a I blemish.
