PATTERSON'S BANKRUPTCY.
At the Danuevirke S.JI, Court last week, a charge of breach oi the Bankruptcy Act was brought against J. J. Patterson alleging that lie Had iaded to keep proper books in his business as solicitor. Mr. Cornford, Crown Prosecutor, appeared for the prosecution, and Jlr. Lloyd represented the defendant. After the charge had been read out, the Crown Prosecutor applied for an adjournment owing to the fact that he tad not been able to obtain certam evidence. His Worship expressed the opinion that important matters in con- » ' nectiou with bankruptcies should ue dealt with by the Supreme Court Mr. Lloyd strongly objected to an adjournment if it meant that the case would not be dealt with by his Wors.np. Mi. Patterson desired the mutter dealt witn as soon as .possible. After some further argument it was decided to grant an adjournment until June 10th.—i ress.
