For several years past there has been no side industry to the dairying that has been so remunerative as growing pias for bacon. Good prices have ruled throughout, and each year has seen a larger number of hogs raised. Any farmer of experience knows' that it is essential, in order to obtain the best profits from hog-raising, to have the right • kind of animal on his 'farm. Mr. ,T. H Sellers, of Okaiawa, has made a special study of the right class of animal, and with the laudable idea of improving the standard of pigs has set up a stud at his farm. At present the stock comprises the Berkshire, Poland-China" and Yorkshire breeds, principally the former. The very finest breeds of Berkshires ever imported to the Dominion are in the stud. This statement is borne out by the fact that during the past three years Mr. Sellers has gained the highest honors at the principal Agricultural shows, and has s'ecurcd no less than 33 champion awards and 5 gold medals. Farmers who are alive. *o their interest will do well to secure one of Sellers' pedigree boars. The animals will be forwarded to any address and ■ all particulars given on 'application to Mr. Sellers, Okaiawa. An advertise ' merit regarding the stock appears elsewhere in this issue.
