CAPTAIN NAYLOR'S APPEAL

COURT'S JUDGMENT RESERVED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The hearing of Captain Naylor's appeal against the suspension of her certificate in consequence of the wreck of t.ie steamer Penguin was concluded to-dav. Mr. Myers, on behalf of the Mari'ie Department, addressed-the Court, maintaining that Navb.r had been guilty of default inasmuch as he had failed to take soundings, but had relied entirely upon dead reckoning, even when he knewhe could not depend upon his patent log and that it was no use lo him. Mr. Myers also contended that Captain Nnylor had not steered a prude it course. The Court reserved its judgment till Friday.
