At Rahotu on Tuesday there was a fair yarding of saleable cattle, most lines being quitted at the hammer at the following rates:—Weaners Ss lid to 13s (id; 15-months heifers £1 8s lid; in-calf do. £2 8s (id; springing heifers £3 15s; store cows 33s to 40s; forward do. £2 4s to £2'. There wils a fair muster of cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wednesday. Bidding and prices were much better than late sales, and nearly everything was sold as follows:—Good calves 13s (id to £1 4s, small do. 7s ltd to lis, IS to 20-months steers £2 10s, empty heifers £l 7s to £1 lis, store cows £1 IDs to £2 )3s (id. forward cows £4 Is, old ewes 3s 4d. CHRISTCHUKCU STOCK MARKET. At Addington on Wednesday there were again large entries of stock and a good attendance of buyers. Fat cattle were dull of sale at previous week's prices. Store sheep showed no change in values. Fat lambs were easier. The fat sheep market opened at about last week's rates, but ewes fell away in price owing to the large supply. Pigs were easier. Store cattle were dull of sale in consequence of heavy entries from Olago. Dairy cows were in good de- ' mnnd.

There was a large yarding of fat sheep, ewes forming the greater portion. Prime wethers brought Iss to 18s 3d, lighter 12s Id to 14s 9d, prime ewes lis to 13s. medium 9s to 10s Od, aged and light 0s to Ss lOd. The entry of store sheep >was below the average of lute sales in point of numbers. Lambs sold up to rates ruling at late sales, verv forward sorts making ' 10s. to lis and backward lolsiSs to 9s Od. Good forward lines, of which there were several offered, sold at lis to 12s lid. low-conditioned half bred wethers Bs, and other classes ut late rates.

The yarding of fat lambs was a little over 200 less than the previous week, th,, total number offered being 0530. In consequence of adverse reports from London there was less keenness in the bidding, and heavy lambs were rather easier, while lighter sorts sold well up to last week's rates. There were 50011 taken for freezing at 12s lid to 14s, and a few heavier pens to 14s 10(1; 285 .were bought by butchers at 12s lo His, and 042 were passed in aud sent to factories on owners' account.

The entry of fat cattle totalled 207 bead, the major portion being of good to prime quality. There was again a weak demand, and a dull sale for all descriptions, especially for second qualify. Steers made £0 7s lid to £lO 2s Bd| heifers £5 to £8 15s (id. aV cows £4 15s to £7 15s—equal to 18s Od to 20s for prime, 10s to ISs for medium, and 14s to l.">s lid for cow and inferior beef per 1001b. There was a large entry of veal calves, including some large sorts, and prices for average weights ranged from 4s lid to, £2 15s, larger calves making more monev.

There was-a very large entry of store cattle, mostly fr(Jni Otago, and there was a very dull sale. Calves made 13s Id, yearlings 275, 15 to 18-inonths 37s to 425, 2-year steers £3 3s to £3 12s Od, 2-year heifers £2 0s to £2 10s, 2',!.year steers £4 15s, 3-year steers £5 15*. Dairv cows wer t . in demand at £3 to £lO.

The entry of pigs was a fairly large one. The demand iwns easier ior all classes, and prices were lower accordingly. There were no large baconers. Lightweights made 45s to 59s (equal to 4'/ 4 d to 4'/.d per lb), heavy porkers 33s to 40s. and lighter 28s to ';t2s (equal to 5d to s '/id per lb), medium stores 25s lo 31V, smaller ISs to 245. weaners lis Od to 14s Od. DUNEDIX iSTOCK MARKET. There was a large yarding of sheep, mainly ewes, at the Burnside stock market On Wednesday. Prices for wethers ( were easier, and ~wcs sliowed a decline of about 2s per head. Best wethers made 15s to Kis (extra ISs), medium 13s Od to lis tid, inferior 12s to 12s 9d, best ewes lis to 12s Od (extra 14s), medium Us to 10s, inferior 5s to 7s. Lambs to the number of .1275 were yarded, and prices were almost equal to 'last week's. Best lambs mad;. 12s to 13s (extra 15s lid), medium lis to 12s, inferior 8s Od to 0s Oil.

About 100 pigs more yarded. Suckers and sinall pigs were ill fair supply, there being a good (lcinaml. Porkers and baconers wore, firm at late rates. Suckers 12s t«> 14s, slips 15s to ISs, stores 20s to 20s, porkers 30s to 40s, light baeoners 411s to 475, heavy 48s to 00s. Cattle to the number of 178 were yarded, and the quality, taken throughout, was good. There were a few pens of specially nie e h tcers and heifers. Bidding wan shirk, lint priees were slightly in advance of last week's rates. ACCICLAND STOCK iIAUKET. The \ew Zealand Loan and Mercaiilile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—

Horses: On Friday, at the Durham yards, a good many horses were brouglit forward and disposed of under fair competition. Heavy draughts sold at from £24 15s to £ll2, medium do. £lB 10s to £2ll, hack,* and light harness horses £5 ,is to £l7 10s.

Cattle: At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday cattle of all description* were yarded in very large numbers. Dairy cows sold at from £3 life to £B. eniptv cows £1 las to £3 (is; the advertised store steers, two-veni-olds. £:>, 10s to £,-) ;3s; calves 18s'lo CI os. The beef liens were well filled with cattle of nice quality, although mostly light weight*.

Competition was steadv at last wook's rates. Oxen sold lo 21s per 1001b, cows 17s to IDs. Steers sold at from £5 15s lo I'll 12s (Id. cows £3 ,"is to £ll 2s lid. A draft of well-iatted bullocks from Mr. J. 11. .lonian's estate, Kankapakapa, averaged £11) 7s Oil.

Sheep: Sheep were yarded in full-num-bers at the Newmarket yards on Tuesdav. ami advanced in juices. Wethers sold at from 12s lid to £l, ewes IDs (id to 10s Od, hoggets 8s 3d to 12s Ud. hi nibs 8s 3d to 12s, store hoggets 5s to 10s 9d, store ewes 0s to 7s od.

Pigs: Porkers sold at from £1 Is to £1 14s, weaners ss'Od to lis, baconers £2 2s to £3 7s.
