NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UXION. A "SERIOUS" POSITION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Friday. The report of the Xew Zealand Rugby Union to be presented at the annual meeting states that the balance sheet discloses a loss of £165 12s Cd on the working account. This, together vvitb the fact that the previous year showed a loss of £795, demands the serious attention of delegates, Two hundred pounds was expended for the encouragement of school football and three meetings of delegates involved an expenditure of £175. The North v. South match resulted in a profit of £2S and thpre is a credit of £670 in connection with the visit of the British team. Th e following amounts are on loan to affiliated unions: Auckland £BOO, Hawke's Bay £1045, Otago £SOO, Southland £llsO, Taranaki £350, Wanganui £025, Wellington £4OO. The management places on record its regret at the death of Robert Deans, who earned such a reputation as a representative footballer.
