The police and detectives were summoned, and arc busily investigating the circumstances and making a search. Vnder medical instructions. Miss Orr had to abandon making the voyage to Sydney, it being advisable that she should stay in Wellington fur the present. She will probably return to Oamaru as soon as well enough. Medical examination shows that Miss Orr's throat is severely lacerated, her taco is horribly swollen, and she is suffering very much from shock.
