EGMONT COUNTY COUNCIL

The ordinary monthly meeting was held at Opunake on Friday. Present: Crs. S. Campbell (chairman), W. C. Dudley, C. 11. Hurst, S. K. Farquhar, M. 3. Jfacßeynolds, J. Young, T. Harvev, and A. E. Phillips. HOSPITAL IJOAHD KATE. A letter was read from the New Plymouth Hospital and Charitable Aid Board stating that the levy was i)d in the £IOO, and the amount the Egmoiit Council would be required to contribute would lie £172.55 9d. The levy for the Hawera Hospital is lid in the £IOO. the contribution for the year being £125 10s Oil. Cr. Macßey-nolds pointed out that the levy in the Stratford Comity vvas Ud and Is 3d in Patea and Wangamii. WATItATE COUNTY MATTEU. The Waimate county clerk forwarded the following resolution passed at last meeting of the Council-. "That the E,rmont County Council be written to asking them to agree to tlie balance of Block XIII. being included in the Waimate West County." Failing their consent to this course, the Waimate West County would ask that a Commission he. appointed to determine what amount cf subsidy the Waimate West C'oiwty was entitled to.—One of the councillors remarked that since the Waimate Itoad Board had been converted into a county it looked an if the members were suffering from swelled head.—No action.
