L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. Poultry.—On 'Saturday- v>> had a good entry, 203 birds being penned. There was good competition for all lines, and prices throughout were satisfactory. We. quote: Hens (ordinary) Is 'sd to>2« Id, pullets (purebred) up to 4s 9d, cockerels (ordinary) Is 3d to 2s 4d, purebred 2s 2d to 3s Cd, ducks Is 4d to Is 9d, tifrkcy hens 3s to 3s Gd, gobblers 5s Oil. In the mart the usuallines were sold at satisfactory prices. On Tuesday we held a clearing sale of furniture on account of the Misses .Austin. There was a very large attendance, and the bidding was brisk. Prices "walked were to the vendors' satisfaction.
Fruit.—Very little now offering. We quote: Apples, Hawke's Bay 7s lid to 8s bushel cases, half-cases 4s; bananas »s to 10s 3d, grapes 9d and lOd lb, quinces 2s (id to 4s 6d bushel cases, pears 6s 3d to 7s 6d bushel cases, oranges 6s o,i to 8s case, tomatoes 3s 6d. WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Omata Yards.—On Friday we had a good yarding. Bidding was not brisk, but most lines sold at hammer or privately. Wcaner heifers brought 13s, steers 14s ffd, stores £2 4s to £2 Os, forward do. £2 13s GA, springing cows £3 12s CJ. ewes (old) 4s Gd. Next sale Friday, 30th. Poultry.—On Saturday we had our poultry pens well filled. Prices were, however, lower, which is only to be expected at the present time;. Hens (old) Is to 1« 3d, roosters Is, cockerels Is 4d to Is lid, young heus Is Gd to Is 9d, -pullets up to 2s 2d, geese Is Gd to 2s fid. Fruit. We have had fairly large quantities of New Zealand and" Island fruit come forward since last report. Apples, good dessert 3s 6d to 4s M-d box, 6s to 9s case, cookers Id to l%d lb; pears 3s Gd to 6s per box, 8s to lis case; tomatoes Is 6d to 2s fid box, pumpkins 4s 3d per sack, quinces Id to li/jd per lb; oranges, poor 5s 9d, good 7s Oil to 8s 6il; -walnuts, small 4y 2 d lb; melons, 2s 9d dozen; bananas, ripe 9s to 10s fid, ripening 7s fid to 8s fid, green 7s. We are now having regular shipments of Island oranges and bananas arriving, so customers can rely on regular supplies. Drapery Sale.—On Wednesday we held a satisfactory sale of drapery in Pennington's Hall, Inglewood.
