Onehuaga, Thursday.—Arrived, at 9 a.m., Rarawa, from New (Plymouth. Wellington, Thursday.—Sailed, at 12.40 p.m., Orinthic, for London. Newcastle, Last Night.—Sailed, Northern Chief, for Auckland. The Rakaia is to leave Wellington on Saturday for tire Waitara roadstead, to load produce for Home markets. The Northern Company's Rimu, from Onehunga to Wanganui, passed the breakwater yesterday. She will probably arrive here from Wanganui today. (There is a probability that the Northern Steamship Company will, at an early date, reduce the Rarawa's trips between Onehunga and New Plymouth from three to two a week. The Kiai arrived here at half-pa6t two yesterday afternoon from Wellington anu southern ports with 250 tons of general cargo. Owing to the wet weather she did not commence discharging yesterday. She will commence early this morning, and it is expected that she will get away about noon for Westport. Owing to having been detained ut Picton, the Rotoiti did not arrive here until One o'clock yesterday afternoon. She brought 30 tons of cargo, including 500 sacks of chaff an<l_2a sacks of malt. During the winter months the Rotoiti will leave New Plymouth on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. for Wellington, instead of at noon.

Captain F. P. Evans, of the Takapnna, lias taken over the command of the Rotoiti. His officers will Mr. J. Leonard; second, Mr. H. Keynes; chief engineer, Mr. P. G. Hickev; second. Jlr, W. A. Kelly; third, Mr.* H. J. Kelly. Captain B. M. Aldwell, late of the Rotoiti, takes command of the Pateena, and Captain Stewart, of the Pateena, transfers to the Takapuna. The Union Company's new cargo steamer Kurow is about to leave England shortly for New Zealand. Captain W. Hutchings, late of the Talune, is to bring the new boat out. The Kurow is a vessel of 4000 tons, of the following dimensions:—Length, 315 ft; beam, 44ft 6in; depth, 23ft; loaded draught, 19ft 3in. The indicated horse power Is 1500.
