A return issued l>y the Government 6tatiet shows that owing to the dryness last year, the shrinkage in live stock represented a monetary loss of nearly three million pounds. ALLEGED THEFT OF LODGE FUNDS. Sydney, April 22. Parry, a,well-known solicitor, was arrested on a charge of stealing large sums of money, the property of the trustees of the Grand Lodge of Druids. BROKEN HILL TRIAL. Sydney, April 22. Rosser Lyons, who was accused of maliciously damaging the railway line at Broken Hill, was acquitted at Albtiry, the jury stating that the evidence was not strong enough to convict. Drysdale's action for CKMIOfI slander against Uml Roselierv. cabled last February, was dismissed, the Judge remarking, that in justice to the plaintiff the result of the investigations of the accounts was a satisfactory one. BERLIN SLANDER CASE. Belli.i. April 21. Count Ktmp von Moltke, as co-prose-cutor, offered to abandon a prosecution for slander if Heir Harden withdrew a charge of immorality.
