CANADA'S DEFENCE.
Ottawa, April 20. The Hon. L. P. Brodeur, Minister for Marine, speaking at Montreal, referring to his and the Hon. Sir F. W. Borden's (Minister for Defence) visit to England to consult the Admiralty, said —''We want no militarism, but our better stand as a nation brings, us ne,v obligations. We want power to make treaties where we are concerned, and can claim that we are a nation with a nation's responsibilities. We must begin to defend our territory equally on land and on sea."
