POULTRY SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Xaranaki Pigeon Poultry, and Canary Society was lie!, in the C'oll'ce Palace, New Plymouth, on Thursday evening. Mr. S. Teed presided over an attendance of about sixfean members. Tlw dates for this year's show were fixed lor Wednesday and Thursday, July 21 and 22. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to charge sixpence for art-union tickets this year. As there would be a large number of miscellaneous classes at the Society's annual show such as classas for children's pets, flowers, potplants, and guessing conrpeutions, the price of admission was fixed at one shilling. It was decided to divide the hall into two parts, by means of scrim. The poultry, etc., will be placed in one part and the miscellaneous classes in the other. The first prize in the art union was fixed as a lady's caiwed writing cabinet, valued at ±M2 12i. The second and third prizes were not decidred upon, being left to a future meeting. A class for technical exhibits, open to pupils of Technics schools in I'aranaki, was added to the schedule. A large display of these exhibits is expected. A sub-committee was appointed to finally draft the schedule for the show, which will be very much larger t'kan in previous years. Sub-committees wi .* also appointed ito control various classes of exhibits.
