The Daily Mail's Xew York correspondent says it is rumored that Patten [ has taught several Xew York millionaire* selling short there, and that thcv have been forced to buy in tile iiubli'e market to meet their engagements. Fifteen milliun buehels of wheat are stored .in the Diiluth distriet. and no attempt is being made to send it to Chicago. It is supposed that l'atten ami his friends control the parcel. Received April 14, 10.20 p.m. New York, April 14. My wheat in Chicago has risen to 128 cents, July 117 cents, and September 10!) cents. Patten is holding for 130 July and 12a September. During the week a syndicate holding ten million bushels joined Patten. The quartern (41b) loaf in London has risen to sixpence, and bakers are demanding a rise to sixpence halfpenny and sevenpence. Received 14, 11.58 p.m. Sydney, April 14. Flour advanced ted shillings to-day. NEW ZEALAND! RESPONDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Auckland millers have raised the price of flour 10fi per ton, which makes the ■wholesale rate £l2 10s per ton, less the usual discount. The rise is the outcome of the steady advance that has taken place in the wheat markets of the world. Wellington, Last Night. The price of flour >was raised £1 a ton to-day. The price of bread will probably be raised in consequence. Pollard, On the other hand, has dropped £1 a ton.
