HOCKEY.
WHAKATIKA LADIES' CLUB. The annual meeting of the W'iiakatika Ladies' Hockey Club was ueld in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, Mr. W. P. Crawford presiding". The lion, secretary (Miss Whitaker) presented the annual statement of accounts, which showed the club to be in a very satisfactory financial position. Several new members were elected, The following officer* were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Dr. W'ylie; vice-presidents, Dr. Leatham, Dr Walker Messrs. ("i. Tisch, W. (!. Malone, F. T.' iicllringer, and C. Ji. Jiurgess; club captain, .Miss M. McFwen; vice-captain, Miss K. Smith; hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss Whitaker; coach* Mr. \V. ['. Crawford. It was decided to cpen the season on Thursday week, April 22nd, at the racecourse ground. Reference was made to the Xew Zealand annual ladies' tournament, lo he held at Napier this year, and it was thought that an endeavour should be made to send a New Plymouth or Taranaki team tu compete.
The inactivity of the Taranaki Ladies' Association was referred to, and eventually it was decided to communicate with the lnglewood and Stratford delegates for information.
