ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND DEAD. By Telegraph.-Pres3 Association. I Dunedin, Tuesday. A man named James Dawson was ifound dead in a stable at Berwick last flight. A JOCKEY'S DEATH. i Christcburcb, Last Night. At the inquest on William (('Council, rider of Stronghold in the Kildare Hurdles on Monday, the evidence of Edward Scouller, rider of Snip in the same race, was to the effect that Stronghold failed to rise at the hist hurdle, and fell b front of Snip, and rollud over deceased. Snip struck Stronghold mid also fell and rolled on deceased. The reason Stronghold did not rise to the hurdle was that he seemed to he tiring. The medical evidence was that deceased reached the hospital in an unconscious condition and remained so until death ensued at J a.m. to-day. Deceased's condition showed signs of cerebral hemorrhage, but it was deemed too extensive to permit of an operation. A post mortem examination disclosed extensive hemorrhage within and without the brain substance. A verdict of accidental death was returned,
