by Telegraph.—Press \ssociation. W'angiuiui, Last Night Over three hundred old boys from all parts of the Dominion entertained Mr. and Mrs. Empson on the sports ground to-day. Dr. Marshall (Uimediii) occupied llie chair. .Mrs. Eiiipson was presented with a solid silver salver, suitable eneraved. Miss Eiiipson was given a wedding present of a silver tea service. There was great enthusiasm throughout the proceedings. .Mr. Einpson's great work at school during the past 23 years is to be commemorated in a substantial maimer, to be announced later. To-night there was a big gathering of present and old boys and friends at the Drill Hull, when Rev. Dove, the new headmaster, was lormally welcomed by the trustees, old boys, and present boys. To-morrow Lord Ptunkcl lays the foundation stone of the new school to be erected at a cost oi .C 30,000. A ball will take place in the evening. Wanganui, Last Night.
A sum approaching £IBOO was promised to-day towards the erection of a new cliupcl'in connection with the new college. It is understood that Mr. Empsou suggested the new chapel iu preference to the presentation to Himself proposed by the old boys.
