AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD'S JUVENILE OPERA COY.

THE ISLE OF HONG-BONG-TO-NIUUT.

"Return of the Favorites," so runs the advertisement, and quite rWit too (is no theatrical company that has ever toured the Dominion has endeared itself to the hearts of the playgoers like that bearing the name of "Pollard." For thirty years they have visited us again and again, always growing stronger and better, always with something new, and always with a large and efficient company to adequately represent even the most difficult pieces in their repertoire. The present company, which opens here to-night, is the sixth organised by Mr. Lollard, and that clever stage manager thinks it is the best he has ever controlled. The modern stage holds forth such inducements that managers can pick and choose from thousands of applicants, most of them clever, all well educated! and every one well up in music, both vocal and instrumental. "The Isle of Bong-Bong," the? piece chosen for representation to-night, is the latest addition to the "Pollard" repertoire. It is said to be exceptionally bright and tuneful, and was universally declared by Australian critics to be the best thing of its class Mr. Pollard has ever produced. The cast is a lengthy one, and calls for the full strength of the company. The doors.will be opened at 7.15, the curtain rises at S sharp, and carriages may be ordered for 10.40.

To-morrow night Mr. Pollard will desert the realms of musical comedy and will present his patrons with a better class of work in Planquette's melodious comic opera, "Rip Van Winkle."
