Oneral Crcagh was bom ill 1848, entered the Army in 18(10, and -was attachen to tiie Indian Army in 1870, rising to ' the position of Assistant-Quartermaster-Ccncral of the Bombay command. He saw service in the Afghan War of IS7O-HO, in which he gained hiftV.C-; the Zliob expedition and the China expedition. He commanded the First Class District of India in 1003-00.
