NEW ZEALAND RUGBY UNION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wi'llington, Uisf Night. The management committee of the Now Zealand l!ugl>y Union decided to write to tilt; New South Wales aid Queensland Unions suggesting an early conference of the three bodies to amend tlie laws of the game. The annual meeting of delegates is fixed for Mav 13th.
The committee resolved to ask Otago Union if the newspaper reports are correct of Hutchison's recent spra.li reflecting on the management of the New Zealand Union.
TILE ASSOCIATION GAMti. Tin; annual meeting of the New Plymouth Association Football Club was h"ld last night, Mr. K. Newton presiding. A satisfactory report was read of last year's operations. Members were urged to put more enthusiasm in the affairs of the chili. An appeal to the members of the eluh was made to endeavor to increase the membership, by bciijg on the look-out for "soccer" players.
Thv balance-sheet showed a small balance in hand.
The following nflicers were elected: President. Dr. 'Walker; vice-presidents, his Worshir. the Mayor (Mr. f!. Tisch). Dr. BlacklcV. 'Messrs' W. Uookham, W. Balloch and if. Evans; secretary, V. Colbeck (re-elected); management committee. Messrs Smart, Elliott, Uedley, and Cornish. Mr. Smart was re-elected captain. Tjengthyi discussion arose concerning the appointment of a selection committee, and finally it was resolved that Mr. Re<t. Newton be the sole selector.
It w highly probable that Omala will again start their club. Oniata was one of the first teams hi the fliehl five years ago. and there are still some of its players living in that district, It has been decided to form two teams if possible in town. Every member of the club is endeavoring to get acquainted with "soccer" players in the district, but if there are any old players or young fellows who would like to take on Association football, hut .have not been approached, they will be heartily welcomed at" a meeting p,f players on 'Wednesday next in. the secretary'., room.
