AMUSEMENTS.
POLLARD'S JI'VEMLK OPERA COMPANY. In criticising the tir«t production of the new musical comedy -The Isle of Bong-Bong,' with which t'his popular combination will renew acquaintance with New Plymouth playgoers on Monday night, the Courier, the leading morning paper of Queensland, said: "There was au immense attendance, and any amount of enthusiasm, *0 that the new piece is absolutely .sine to catch on. A sparkling show, which bustles along with characteristic American slap-dash, helped by pretty girls, clever dancers, and bright costumes. Those who were fortunate enough to have secured admission were treated to one of the brightest nights amusement which has fallen to their lot lor a very considerable time. Mr. bollard's policy in catering to Australian tastes should meet with a handsome reward, as the present companv and piece are just the very tiling to please our audiences-. He had promised a night of light liveliness and laughter, and he war; as good as his word. . . ,
There is not a humorous song or a sentimental lyric .in the musical farce which one does not willingly listen to a second lime."
