The lamb market is weak and inactive, with very little prospect of improvement for some time. Stocks in hand are heavy, and prices have declined. Current quotations are: Canterbury lamb 4%d, other than Canterbury 4'/,d, Australian 3%d, iiiver Plate 4%i1.
Beef—The market its weak owing to the poor demand and .supplies from the ltiver Plate. Heavy New Zealand hindquarters are quoted at 3d and iorc,quarters al "i'/ad.

Hemp—The market is very depressed on account of large shipments from -Manila. Current quotations are: flood fair grade on spot .123, fair grade on spot t2l. fair current Manila On spot ,C 23. April-June shipments, good fair grade £22 10s. fair grade .C2O 10s, failcurrent .Manila £2O 10s. Last week's Manila output amounted to 25,000 bales. The cocksfoot seed market is quiet. There are light stocks on hand. Bright, clean. !71b seed is quoted at 80s. Xvw Zealand long-berried wheat on spot ex granary per quarter of 49G11*.. :i!ts Ikl. short 37s lid. Prices are nominal. The market is firmer.
Xew Zealand short, sparrowbill oats ex granary per quarter of 3841b5, 245: Banish oats ex granary per quarter of 3201b, 17s. A good demand exists for all descriptions oi Xew Zealand beans. F.a.q. (old crop) per 5041hs is quoted at 345. The market is firmer, with more enquiry. Partridge peas per 50-llb are 42s fid. The market is linn, with a hardening tendency.
