WEDDING BELLS.
BEiN'XETT-UOBEKTS. A wedding of considerable local interest was celebrated yesterday afternoon at St. Mary's Church by the l!ev. !•'. 0. Evans, who united in the bonds of matrimony Mr. S. K Bennett, of Taihupe, anil formerly a popular incuther of the Xe.w I'lviuoulli railway .staff, and Miss Edith Maud Huberts, daughter of Mr. and -Mrs. W. Roberts, of -New Plymouth. The bride, who was given away by Iter father, ivns dressed in a lovely Einpi'ro jowii of ciciim ehill'on lall'eta, ami wore the usual wreath and veil, carrying a prelty shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Airaie and Winifred Huberts, and b. Preston, who wore heliotrope, dresses, hats to match, and carried shower lumuuets. Mr. 0. A. A. Kenning, of Xe'sou, was best man, land Messrs b b. Cock a7id A. 11. ElmeS (of Napier) groomsmen. The reception in the Brougham Street Hull was attended by a large gathering of friends. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a lopaz pendant and the bridegroom's to tlu> bride a neck dm to and pendant, flie bridegroom .presented io the bridesmaids gold bangles and pendant. The wedding presents were niiinei'.nis, useful and valuable, among them being the wedding' cake, the gift of M ■ I- Hart, Feilding, formerly of New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. Bennett were passengers for the South, en route to Wellington, bv the 1i.'25 p.m. train yesterday, and (lie lioucvmoon. journey was commenced amidst showers of riee and a loud chorI us of shrieking railway engines.
