Samuel Wilson, among other injuries, sustained a compound fracture of tin* leg, and was taken to the hospital. . where he died.
The worst cases amongst the others are Stanley Towner, who had three I ribs broken and a thigh injured, and ; Thomas Cross, the well-known repre-' tentative footballer, whose side and back are injured. No explanation is given for the collapse of the roof, but it in suggested that the severe iheat of yesterday caused the principals at one end to "trickle" and carry away t/Jiu supports. There were eleven steel principals, each "weighing two tons. FATAL FALL FROM A CAB.
Cliristchurch, Last Night. Isaac Randall, a cab driver, met with fatal injuries early this morning through falling; oil' the dickey of liip> cab in Madras Street. It appears that at at 1.15 a.m. he was engaged by four young men to drive to Kaiapoi. He drove along Oxford Terrace and across the Madras street bridge Soon after the cab had crossed the bridge, the occupants noticed the reins were very slack, and the horse practically uncontrolled. One of the men took hold of the reins and I stopped the horse. On getting out, they found that the driver was missing, and on making search found him lying 011 the bridge in an unconscious state. A doctor was summoned and ordered Randall's removal to the hospital, where he died at 4.20 a.m. An examination 01 'the body showed that the skulL had 'been fractured. At an inquest this afternoon, a verdict of accidental death 'was returned.
FOUND DEAD. I Dunedin, Last Night. The body of Andrew Geddes Kerr, accountant in Irvine and Stevenson's factory, was found dead 011 the Town Belt to-day. There were no marks of violence and death wottld seem to have been attributable to internal causes. During the past two months he had been obliged to give up work owing to ill-health and insomnia.
