Cup- . hoard* lor Toko were completed. The Cardiff chimney was completed, and would be inspected next week. Plans and' specifications had been prepared for lining Marco School, and tenders called. The contractor had commenced work at the lluiakania residence.—Adopted. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT. The chairman reported that since >ince last meeting the following appointment* had been made, in pursuance to the recommendations of committee* interested:— Bell Block, Miss M. Potts; Central, assistant master. Mr. .!. R. Sullivan; Denbigh. Miss Olansen; Durham. Miss. 1. Foster; Fitzroy. assistant mistress. Miss M. Itiordan;* Norfolk, assistant mistress, Miss E. Knox; Rowan. Miss M. 1. .lamieson; Salisbury, assistant mistress. Miss 11. Bree:i; York, Miss 11. Black. Miss A. Bollinger had U'C'ii appointed probationer at Frankle-v School. On account of the exceptional circumstances . in connection with the meeting of the Bird householders on 22ml inst., he asked Messrs Mori»<on and Trimble to attend the meeting on bvhalf oi the Board. Mis* Denton kid been appointed temporary assistant in the Board's office, owing to pressure of work. FINANCE COMMITTEE. The Finance Committee submitted its report, recommending: That £2 15s be paid for tank-stand at Tataraimaka; that dual desks be supplied for ing the infant-room at .Stratford; Katupiko: That £ls 'be paid to Ratapiko Committee for work done, the balance of £5 to lie paid on completion of work; that the matter of drainage at Rahotu be referred to the architect, and that the question of furniture he referred to the inspectors; that the Hillsborough Committee be asked to forward details ot the fencing asked for the teacher; that the tender 'of Mr. Hodder be accepted for lining and repairing the Marco School at £59, the lining of the porches to be held over for a time; that the matter of new tanks at Kaimata be referred to Mr. Trimble, -with power to act; that the attention of the architect be called to the request of the Pukeho Committee for cupboard locks, etc.; that the present custodian of the New Pljmouth Technical School be appointed to keep the grounds in proper order around the school and the Board's office at an extra remuneration
of £.12 per anTium; that the architects' attention be drawn to the Lower Kent Committee's complaints regarding the painters having left the school dirty. After carefully considering the request of the Stratford Committee for
a grant for maintenance and instruction in swimming, the committee cannot see that it -would be a legitimate charge 011 any of the Board's funds.—Adopted.
