The object of the meeting was to discuss tiie company's business relations with Covins and Baker, of Auckland, to whom the season's supply of butter had been sold. Everything went well until December, when two cheques for that mouth's butter (totalling £2297 l«s Udi were considerably delayed and which, upon arrival and presentation, were dishonored.
