Davidson, <>( \London and Glasgow, under dale February 4, staifes:— ■MUTTER. The demand this week i'or Continental butters has been very good, aud stock* are entirely cleared at about Is to 2s advance. Telegraphic advices from tho Continent state that the markets hotli in Denmark and Holland are exceptionally iirm, and exporters are demanding about 2s ;per cwt. of an advauico on the Ihusis price. On the other hand, while colored has; met with a. good demand, and large quantities iave been sold, the prices, as a rule, are unchanged from' last week. Importers have repeatedly tried to establish au advance, but the moment they ask a higher price, the demand at once slackened, aud they were compelled to continue accepting old prices to 1 keen their stocks moving. Our Copenhagen correspondent has just telegraphed that the quotation has been declared officially three kroner up, but the actual advance on tlie basis price is 4% kroner, equal to os per cA\'t. Danish and Swedish: There has been fairly active demand. Stocks are entirely cleared. Prices show an advance of Is toi 2s per <*wt. We quote strictly choicest .quality lUj» to litis. ■Siberian: Any small parcels of strictly fresh-made goods (continue to meet with a ready sale at 102s to 104s. There H a little more interest being taken in stocks lying in void store, and these are meeting with a little better sale. Prices range from to Ms.
Argentine: This (continues to {meet with a iairly active demand. Prices remain unaltered.
Australian: The arrivals this 'week are fairly heavy., the s.s. Mongolia having docked with about 30.000 and the s.s. l.\)ona with about 17,001) boxes. The market has been steady at last week's prices. viz—Choicest Victorian and Xew Mouth Wales 107s to 108s, choicest lirst-grade Qm-endand Hills, second 104. Xew Zealand: The s.s. Puiapchu, with ">O.OOO (boxes, has now docked. Importers have striven very hard to establish 112s as the price for .first-grade ex this istea.nier. .but have failed to mnintarn their position, and the bulk of the sales made <so far have been at 110s and Ills.

Dalgety and Co.j Ltd., report having received the following cable message from their London house ui.der dale of the JOtli inst.: —"Wool sales continue iirm and lately reported rates are fully maintained. The third series are to open on .May 4th, and are limited to 100.000 bales net new arrivals, provided that quantity be reached before the eighth day prior to the opening of the sales. No wools arriving after that date will be admitted."
