disqualified professionals. By Telegnaph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. At a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby t'nion to-night, correspondence was read from the Southland Rugby U,ituii urging that the disqualification of the players who took part in the Northern Union game in that district be removed. The men concerned had only played tlie Northern Union game as an exercise, not with a view to monetary gain. It appeared that there had been some misunderstanding in the matter, the Southland Union not having been notified in time that persons playing under the Northern Union rules would be suspended. However, the committee devilled it had no power to reinstate the offenders.
