WAREA ATHLETIC CLUB'S SPOiuS. (From Gur Own Correspondent). The Warea Athletic Club held their third annual sports meeting uu the recreation ground yesterday. The weather was fine and a large crowd attended. The refreshment booth was rim bv the clubhand was looked after by -Miss .Maud Corbctt, and a very good trade was done with soft drinks and fruit. The Opuuake Brass Band was present and played a number of selections. The committee kept things going and did all they could tio make the sports a success. A protest was lodged over the novice chop by Alf. Ellis against H. Clarke, tho winner of the chop, for having chopped before. The committee disqualified Clarke and awarded Ellis first money. Most of the running events were fairly close at the finish. Tho cycle events were fairly fast for the rough track. In the maiden four started, and Mills feli on the first round. Lester went off from the start, and kept the lead until the finish. Kendall kept behind and on the last lap htul a 'pill, but lie gut up again and paildled olf for second plaee. The takings amounted to ±'l3 10s. The sheep-guessing competition was won by Mrs. R. Bell, who guessed 118'/vM>, the correct weight being 1101b. Following are the results:— Novice Chop.—A. Ellis 1, W. Waswo 2. 100 Yards Handicap.—First heat: R. Mcfiarvie 1, Tito 2. Second heat: .1. Hickev 1, H. Nghaia 2. Final: J. Hickev asd H. MeGarvie dead heat.

Maiden Race.—Puma 1, Damon 2. One Mile Bicycle Handicap.—T. Lester 1, J. E. Mills 2." Won fairly easily. Five started. Ladies' Race.—Daisy Taylor 1, M. Tobin 2. Eight started, 440 Yards Handicap—U. Ward 1. Tito 2, Jr. Julian 3. Nino started. A good finish. Handicap Chop.—First- heat: A. E. Magon 1, E. Svmons t. Second heat: H. Young 1, Gilmour 2. Final: H. Young I, Gilmour 2. Time, lmin. 27sec. Hurdles, 120 yarc*.—Onnningham 1, Graham 2. . Five started.
