DISTRICT NEWS.
MAKETAWA. (From Our Own. Correspondent.) A quiet and pretty wedding was solemnised yesterday (11th inst.) at the residence of Mrs. Jose Hodges, Durham Koad, when Miss Annie Hodges was united iu the bonds of matrimony to -Mr. Alliert Kennedy, son of Mr. George Kennedy, of Dudley Koad. The Kev. E. I'atehett officiated. The bride was attired ill a navy travelling costume, with hat to match, and was attended Vy her sister as bridesmaid. Mr. llarrv Kennedy acted as best man. The weddi-.ig presents were very numerous, and were both handsome and useful. The happy couple left by the 5.45 train en route for Te Aroha.
The Norfolk Koiul school, which has exhibited both Mowers ami vegetables at and Stratford, has scored great successes, and the headmaster (Mr, K. E. Thomas), who has always taken an interest hi horticulture, may well be congratulated on his success.
