TARANAKI ANNUAL REGATTA

AT WAITAEA TO DAY. Taranaki annual regatta takes place ito-day at Waitara. There arc excellent entries for all Hie whaleooat and outrigger rowing events, crews from the SYnnganui clubs again competing against the pick of the North Taranaki oarsmen. The river is in excellent order, the tides serve well, and the weather promises to be ideal for the regatta and the accompanying picnics. Waitara is laying herself out in style for the accommodation and entertainment of a large number of visitors, and the committee in charge of the racing contains 'inanv of those gentlemen whose names file associated with the past successes. -\k special train leaves New Plymouth for Waitara at 10.50 a.m., returning jthence at 5.45 p.m.
