The girls' swimming races in connection with tiie West Knd school will be .held in the municipal baths at l.'M) this evening, the prizes being presented by his Worship the Mayor. A special competition lias been arranged for diviug. Students are notilied that tho classes conducted at the New Plymouth technical school commence on Monday next, March l">th. A prospectus of the classes maf be obtained on application at the Education Board's oll'iee. To-day is show day at Amburv's, and the linn has a magnificent display of autumn and winter fashions in every department. The showrooms will be open for the inspection of all. "White and Sons are making their early display of the autumn styles -to-day and on the next following days. Chief, of course, is the very fine millinery show made of the latest Paris innovations, but every department of a thoroughly* equipped draper's shop is well represented.— Advt.
