PLAGUE IN AUSTRALIA. Received 0.15 a.m. .Sydney, .March 8. One. of the Arab new of the French . steamer St. Louis, arriving from Vila on Sunday, was discovered to day suffering from plague. The steamer was removed from the wharf to quarantine. Another c;i-e of plastic, has occurred. A man .workiiig at a llourmill in Goulbourn street is stated to be dead. Plagued rats were found in the premises. THE CHINESE INFLUX. Melbourne, March 8. During the past four years 010 Chinese were admitted to the Commonwealth on naturalisation papers. Victoria's share included Chinese, and New South Wales' share. 170. It is suspected that a large number of the naturalisation papers are bogus. I FEDERAL LABOR GOVERNMENT. Sydney, March 8. Speaking at Albury, the M:ni-lcr tor Defence declared that the L'iior Government would welcome n challenge. If Parliament censured them they would ask the people next year what they thought. SMALLPOX ON A STEAMER. Perth, March 8. Three more cases of small pox have occurred on the steamer Paroos among the colored crew.
