ALLEGATIONS OF DRUNKENNESS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The officers and members of the crew of the three-master ship Forrest Hall, which went asfliore at Manganui, 20 miles south of Cape Maria Van Dieman, on February 27th, arrived at Auckland this morning by the steamer Chelmsford from rarengarenga. The men have settled down comfortably at Whitehead's Coffee Palace, and they state (hat their experiences were not of a very trying; nature. Captain J. T. Collins, when interviewed, stated that the vessel was. t hrot weeks out from Newcastle when the New Zealand coast was sig'lited at daylight on Saturday week last, but lie declined to make any statement as to what took place between that time and the striking of hind at {1.30 a.m. The crew were able to save move of their personal belongings, tut none of the ship's property was recovered. The freight comprised 5127 tons of coal, and this also was lost. After camping for a few days in the vicinity of the wreck, nil hands went to Parengaronga. The captain was not able to say whether the vessel or flier cargo is insured. Members of the crew are reticent as to what occurred subsequent to and after the wreck, but certain allegations of drunkenness are' made.
