Mr. S, Giirvey, an Auckland police ollicial, is on a visit to New 'Plymouth. Our special reporter wired from Stratford last night that tlio Hon. A. W. Ilogg arrived by the mail train to attend Hie complimentary social to Mr. Byrnes, ex-M.P. for the district. He receives deputations in the morning, and will leave for Whangamomona at o'clock. Beyond Whang-amomona, the itinerary is not yet settled, but lie will probably go to Mnngaroa, Matiere, Aria and Te Kuiti, entraining for Wellington, wliere the Minister is due on Saturday.
