1 THE AUSTRALIAN PRO'S. Received 1, 1.8 a.m. London, -February 28. Merthyr beat the Australian Leaguers by a tries to 2 goal and 3 tries. SCOTLAND v. IRELAND. Received 1, 1.8 a.m. London, February 28. The international .match, Scotland v. Ireland, was won by Scot-land by three tries to a penalty goal. At the annual meeting of the Eltham Club on Friday the. following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr. B. Dive, JU.P.; president, 'Mr. C. A. Wilkinson; vice-presidents, Messrs Carncross, L. L. Rogers, and J. C. Hobhs; secretary, Mr. Jo6h Andrews; treasurer, Mr. H. G. Sergei; management committee, Mcss.'s Rogers, De Launay, H. Jenkins, F. Brown, J. L. Campbell; hon. auditor, Mr. F. E. Hardy; delegates to L'nionj Messrs Rogers and Sergei; selectors (junior), Messrs Rogers and Sergei; juniors, Mr. H. Xuttal; second juniors, Mr. 11. De Launay; ground committee, members of management committee. It was resolved that it be a recommendation to the Taranaki Rugby Union to adopt a different system of arranging •up fixtures. Speaking to the motion Mr. Sergei said that the fixtures were so arranged last year that the Eltham juniors were called upon to play their first five matches away from home. He thought this very uniair. It was decided that the club should endeavor to get a member to qualify as a member of the Referees' Association.
