The damage extends for about 'IOII feet from below the foremast on the. port side close to the keel. The vessel is leaking through cracks and strained rivet holes. I Christchurch, Last Sight. | The Huddart-rarker Company's large steamer L'limaroa, which grounded in the Otago luubur last Saturday morning, aim which was badly damaged, was docked' at Lvttelton yesterday evening. A survey of the vessel's bottom was held this morning, and it is understood that tenders will be called at once and j a contract let tor the work of repairs. An inspection of the vessel in dock shows that she lias sustained very serious damage through contact with the rocks. The first dent shows under thi bottom of the vessel on the port side, about GO feet from the bow. The plates | ar« badly dented, and the rivets are ' started", "floing aft numerous bad dents . can be seen, and then for about 120 feet • or more the plates and frames are very , seriously buckled, and "set up." The ■ damage seems to be confined to the two . rows of plates extending from the keel ■ outward for about eight feet, and fore i and aft for we'll over 100 feet amidships.

Tliß plates at tlio after end of the damaged section are badly cracked, and water was streaming through in numeious plates. A number of the tracks were so had that 'they Jiad to be plugged at Port Chalmers by a diver with canvas and wool wedges. It is understood t'hat 'the contract for repairs will involve the removal of 18 plates, eaeli about 22 feet in length.
