A youth named Terence Murphy pleaded guilty in the Magistrate's Court to-day to three charges of breaking and entering the premises of the ftutt Valley Hardware Company, and was committed to the Supreme' Court for sentence.
WHOLESALE LICENSEE CONVICTED Du-.iedin, Wednesday. At the Police Court this morning Mr. Widdowson, S.M., gave judgment a case in which Robert McMillan wis charge with a breach of the Shops and Offices Act. Defendant is a storekeeper and .holds a bottle license. On a half-holiday he sold, a bottle of beer, contending that he had a right to do so, The .Magistrate held that there was nothing in the Licensing Act to protect or exempt storekeepers from the provisions of the Shops and Offices Act. As this was a test ease a conviction only was recorded, and defendant war ordered to pay costs.
