THE KILTIES." _ TO-NIGHT# I'ERFOKMAXCIi. There should be no need for us to remind the people of this district that tonight, in the Theatre Royal, will be jfiven the second and last opportunity of hearing a concert given by this worldfamed sterling combination. Columns have been written concerning the marvellous effect of the Kilties' soul-stirring music upon their audiences. No greater proof of their powers in this direction can be given than that the combination has now been touring for eight years, playing ia all the principal cities of the globe, and still their reputation grows greater. The conductor of the band is a musician to his finger-tips, and he has under him a troupe of highly-skilled .performers on their several instruments. Despite the numerical strength of the band its music partakes more of the nature of grand organ strains than the blare often associated with brass bands. The male chorus will appear in specialised vocal concert work, and the Clan Johnstone troupe of dancers, said to be the finest tliat have ever toured the Dominion, can be depended upon to give an excellent " turn." The Kilties leave for Auckland after the performance. A grand matinee will be given in the afternoon, commencing at 2.45. A feature of the evening's performance ■will lie a Maori liaka by a North Taraiiaki troupe.
