SALVAGE OPERATION'S. ' By TolegrapJi.—Press Association. Auckland, Wednesday. An Auckland syndicate Ims acquired the entire rights to the steamer Aeon, wrecked „t. Christmas Island. It inleiKls to despatch the auxiliary mow Singula, fully equipped with lifting Rear ami carrying divers, onrpentcrs and laborers. The syndicate is hopeful oi salvaging a cargo of 1000 tons of Bengal merchandise, and two million fe»t <'f timber, and re-floating the Aeon. ■ln- hull is reported .not. to be badlv I damaged and the cargo i s s „jd t 0 ho well preserved. The expedition is in charge of Captain Robertson and will ie titled out under tire direction of cdtain W. Ross.
