TOWNSHIP'S NAKKOW ESCAPE. The township of Okato had a narrow '-■<—,..- escape from bcrag completely demolished on Saturday night. A fire caused by a defective swinging lamp, broke out in Wooldridge's billiard sa-1 loon. With the high wind blowing the! building was soon burned to the ground. Had the vacant section adjoining Wooldridge's not been cleared of loose timber the day previous, the whole township would probably have gone. As it was, tiie Hying embers were a source of danger and a cause of great anxiety to tile residents, one of whom got his family out in anticipation of the fire spreading. The damage done is estimated at .1300, and the insurance is £250.
