At Stratford on Tuesday bidding was quiet aad prices in buyers' favor, except for forward store cows, which sold at full rates. Mixed weaners made 14s, mixed 12 to 10-nionths 335, yearling steers 38s, 18-months steers 42s 0d to 475, yearling heifers 25s Od, 2-year do 48s Bd 1 , store cows 37s 6d to 425, forward do £3 2s Od to £3 18s, bulls 30s to £3 10s.
VICK.ERS & STEVENS' REPORT. | There was a good yarding of cattle iu our Inglewood yards on Wednesday, and bidding was much better than lair sales. Weaners made 10s to His Od, mixed yearling to 15-months £1 0s to £1 10s, yearling to 15-months steers £1 12s to £1 14s 6d, store cows £1 15s to £2 Ids, springers £3 to £3 12s Od. . WAXGAXUI STOCK MARKET. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report a yarding of 3400 sheep, but no cattle came forward. Everything was sold except •two peas ol lambs, at recent rates. Quotations: Four and six-tooth wethers Vh lOd, Us, to lis Od, sound-mouth ewes 0s lOd, mixed culls as to 8s Dd, small woolly lambs 6s, cull lambs 3s 2d. . AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET. ■ The Hew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— . Horses. —At the Durham yard* on Friday we had a full yarding of horses, and under the hammer the greater number were sold. Heavy draughts sold at from' £22 10s to £32, medium do. £lO 15s to i.£2B, haeks and light harness 'horses £5 5s to £2O, weeds and ponies £1 15s to £0 17s Od, Suneton (by Eton Cattle.—-At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday there was a full muster of stock of all descriptions. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £fl 12s Od, empty cows '£2 Is to £2 18s, calves 17s to £1 Bs. Oxen sold to 2U per 1001b and cows 17s to 19s. Steers sold at from £0 2s Od to £0 12s 6d, cows £3 10s to £O.
Sheep.—Sheep were yarded in average numbers at Newmarket on Tuesday, and advanced in prices. Wethers sold at from 12s Od to lfe Od, ewes Os Od to 15s 6d, lambs 10s Od to 15s Od, store do. 6s fid to 9s, hoggets I.os Od to 13s yd. , Pigs, Workers £1 Is to £1 10», weaners 5s 6d to 12s. baconcrs £2 to '£2 10s.
At Papakura on Wednesday there was a full muster of stock of all description-. Dairy cows of choice quality sold well at from £4 10s to £8 IDs, heiiers £3 15* to £6, empty cows £2 2s Od to £3 12s- 6d. two to three-year-old steers £2 10s to £5 2* Bd, vearlings £1 18s to £-2 7s 6d, calves 18s to £1 lis. Beef was yarded in full numbers and sold well at Xewraarket rates. Hides.—Market advanced. We quote: Extra stout ox 7d' to 7!/jd, stout do. ti'/jd to 6%d, medinm do. 5%d to lid, light do. 3d to o'/sd; cows', best lines 4%d to ad, good! 4%d to 4%d, scored Id to 4%d; stags 3'/ a d to 4d-, kips 3'/ a d to 4%d, damaged hides 3d to 3%d. Sheepskins.—Market firm. Best butclwrs' skins, large to ss, good lines 4s to 4s 6d, medium 3s 6d to 3s Od, small 2s Od to 3s. Lamba' and pelts, Is 9d to 2s fid.
Tallow.—Market firm. Best mixed to 25s Od. good 23s «d to 24s 3d. Inferior 18s fid to 20s Od, rough fat I'/ S d to l%d per lb.
DUN'EDIX STOCK MARKET. The Burnside weekly stock market report is as follows: Sheep.—234s yarded—a large yarding of medium quality. Prices for wethers were easier by Is to Is 6d, and 1 for ewes by 2s to 3s per head. Best wethers 15s '6d to 17s 6d, medium 13s 0d to 14s 6d, inferior 12s to 13s, best ewes lis to 12s 9d, extra 14s 6d, medium 8s Ut! to its 3d, inferior 6s to 7s. Lambs,—Boo yarded—a medium yarding. Best lambs 13s Od to 15s, medium 12s to 13s, inferior 9s to 10s 3d. Catt'e.—lso yarded—a small yarding, 'ronijwsed principally of medium quality steers and heifers. Owing to the small entry prices showed an advance of about lU> per head. Best bullocks" £8 15s to £lO, nicuium £7 10s to £8 ss, best lhTTers tip'to £O.
Pigs. Trices all round were much the same an those ruling last week. Suckers 13s to His, slips I7s to 19s. stores.23s to 28s. porkers 35s to 38s, liglit Uaeoners 40s to 455, lieavy 93s to 60s.
CHIUSTC'KUROII STOCK MARKET. At the Addington yards on Wcdnesdey there was a fairly large entry of stock anil a good' attendance, especially of those interested in store sheep. Fat cattle sold very well, store sheep were a shade easier, while fat lambs were rather firmer, and fat slieep showed a decline of Is per head. There was a good demand for the better classes of store and dairy cattle. There was a lieavy yarding of store sheep. Lambs formed a large portion of the entry, and they changed hands at prices that showed little margin below the value of fats, fiood forward lambs made 12s fid So 13s (id, ordinarv rape lambs 10s Gd to 12s, and culls 8s Od to 10s. Then ■was a good entry for ewes, and the sold up to 18s 9d for four, six, and eight 'tooths, aad wethers gold at prices equal to those of la»t week. Lambs.—There was a yarding of 4387 fait lambs, of which a large proportion Was of second quality. There were 2575 taken for freezing at 13s fid to lfis Id. and one extra pen at 17s 3d, 445 by butchers at 13s to IBs, a few extra to 17s, 1043 by graziers at 13s to 14s 7d. and 304 were passed in. . Sheep.—A few lots of wethers were bought for freezing. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 16s Gd to 18s 7<l. others 14s to IBs, prime ewes 14s to 16s 6d, medium' 12s to 13s Od, aged and light os7d to lis 6d>.
Cattle.—The supply of beef totalled. only 222 head, the bulk being useful sorts. There was a rather better demand, and a good clearance was effected. Steers made £7 10* to E!l Ids. heifers to 15s to £0 Ms. extra to £S: and cows £4 17s Cd to £7 12s (id. equal to 20s 0d- to "22s Od for prime, 18s (id to 20s for medium, and IGs (id to lHs for cow and inferior per 1001b. Fifteen to eighteen-months' sorts realised £2 4s. two-year steers £3 ss. two-year heifers £2 12s, thvee-year-steers £(> .">-. three-Year heifers £3 14s to £3 lis (id. fcnd dry cows 20s to €3 10s. Only a ■small numl>er of dairy cows were yarded, and for the better sorts there was i keen demand, prices ranging from C 3 10s to .£!>. according to quality.
iPigs.—The yarding was a medium on", and for fats there was a good demand at prices on a par with those ruling at reoent sales, but stores showedafl casing 'tendency. Choppers realised up to C 4 15s, light baeoners 55s to (13s. and (■mailer 48s to 545. equal to 4%d to ."id per H>. Large porkers made 42s to 47*.
